#1. A force of 100N is applied to 2 separate jacks, the area of one is 0.02m2 and the other is 0.04m2:

• Athe smaller jack will exert a pressure of 2,000Pa and the larger 4,000 Pa.
• Bthe smaller jack will exert a pressure of 5,000 Pa and the larger 2,500 Pa.
• Cboth jacks will move at the same speed.
• Dboth have the same load.

#35. A shuttle valve will allow:

• Athe accumulator to be emptied after engine shut down.
• Bthe pressure pump to off-load when the system pressure is reached.
• Ctwo independent pressure sources to operate a system/component.
• Dhigh pressure fluid to return to the reservoir if the Full Flow Relief Valve fails.

#2. A pre charge pressure of 1,000 bar of gas is shown on the accumulator gauge. The system is then pressurised to 1,500 bar, so the accumulator will read:

• A500 bar.
• B1,000 bar.
• C1,500 bar.
• D2,500 bar.
